Santa Rosa Swimming offers swimming lessons to children of all ages. We begin with basic water safety, and progress through learning various swim strokes. Learning to swim is a necessity in life. Our instructors take this task on with passion and joy.

Instructor Kristin Green: Owner Kristin began swimming competitively at age 5. She continued to swim competitively through Division I Swimming at Butler University, IN. During college, she began teaching swimming lessons in the summer months. After college, Kristin started competitive swim coaching with swim teams in Colorado, Indiana, and here in Ventura County. Kristin has coached and taught swim lessons for over 13 years. Kristin is also the mother of two, and is teaching her own children how to be water safe.

Instructor Nerida Hodge: Nerida has been teaching swimming for 8 years. She swam competitively in high school, and coached competitive swimming at Pleasant Valley Swim Team. She was the Aquatics Director at the Camarillo YMCA before accepting her job as a teacher. Nerida is currently a 5th grade teacher at Rancho Rosal in Camarillo.

Instructor Mikayla Avrea: Mikayla is from Camarillo and has been swimming competitively for 13 years. She was also a swim instructor at a YMCA for 2 summers. She is starting her junior year at Cal Lutheran this fall, majoring in psychology with a minor in Spanish - her hope is to one day possibly be a counselor. She loves working with kids and being in the water.

Instructor Kirsten Garcia: Kirsten has been swimming competitively since childhood. She is currently working on her masters degree at CSUN, with a major in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has 3 years experience teaching swimming lessons with the City of Ventura, as well as 3 years of experience as a certified USA Swimming coach at various local swimming clubs.

Instructor Yvonne Boeing: Yvonne is from Palm Springs, CA and has been swimming competitively for 7 years. Yvonne is completing her senior year at Cal Lutheran with a Bachelors degree in Liberal studies and Spanish. Yvonne is fluent in English and Spanish. She will be getting her teaching credential in the fall of 2009. She has great patience and energy working with young children.
